Wait what? Did someone reach out to you asking these details? And in case you’re talking about the download page, the details are taken for payment processing if you wish to donate the money. It is clearly mentioned that these details are taken by Instamojo – the payment processing system for BackSlash Linux and the details are collected by Instamojo itself and BackSlash has no control over it and if you visit Instamojo’s website, it clearly says that you data is safe according to their privacy policy. Think of it like Paypal. When you send payments via Paypal, you provide all your information to Paypal and then Paypal sends the payment to the seller. The seller never knows your personal details. So, if you’re thinking that you may be spammed or some offers would be sent to you if you fill up these details then this is not the case. Moreover, if you’re filling up these details while processing a payment then you should use your genuine information in order to receive receipts and refunds (If you ask for it, BackSlash will refund your money, for legitimate reasons). Hope this helps. Peace!

Thanks! I’m talking about the download page. It just felt weird to me, giving away personal information when im claiming it for free. No other distro have this (i think).
